Andrea Corr postpones Philippine concerts

Andrea Corr is postponing her "Lifelines Tour" concerts in the Philippines which were earlier scheduled on October 16 in Manila and October 18 in Cebu.

According to reports, the lead singer of popular Irish band The Corrs is suffering from a severe infection in her ear and has been advised not to travel by her physicians.

Andrea Corr's concert in Manila will be reset to a later date. There are no official announcements yet regarding the new schedule.

Aside from Manila and Cebu concerts, the singer is also rescheduling her performances in Osaka and Tokyo in Japan, Singapore, Melbourne, Sydney, New Zealand, Jakarta, and Kuala Lumpur.

While her siblings were on hiatus to raise their families, Andrea Corr released her first solo album, "Ten Fifth High", in 2007. Her second album "Lifelines" came out this year. These upcoming concerts of hers in the country are part of her "Lifelines" album tour.

MTV EXIT (End Exploitation and Trafficking) has announced its concert this October 29, 2011 in Manila which aims to raise awareness and increase prevention of human trafficking. The concert will be taking place at the SM Mall of Asia and will feature two international acts, Jay Park and Evaline.

Jay Park was the leader of popular K-pop group 2PM before going solo after an internet controversy - unfavorable comments towards Korea were found on his Myspace account which caused outrage, prompting an early termination of his 2PM contract.

Evaline, on the other hand, is a California-based alternative rock band. The band is composed of Dominic Diciano (guitar), Christian Lewis (guitar), Richard Perry (vocals, keys), Steve Pedersen (bass), and Steve Forrest (drums).

A number of local artists are also expected to perform in the said MTV EXIT concert.

MTV EXIT is produced by the MTV EXIT Foundation in partnership with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Australian Government’s Agency for International Development (AusAID).

2PM, one of the most popular Korean-pop groups, is set to invade Manila, Philippines this November! The boy band will be performing live in a concert which exact date and venue are still being planned.

Via his Twitter account, TV personality Tim Yap broke the news about the said 2PM Live in Manila Concert 2011.

"Confirmed :Superstar Kpop group 2PM coming to Manila this November! Producers finalizing the venue as we tweet," Yap tweeted.

Originally a 7-man band, 2PM is now composed of six members namely Junsu, Nichkhun, Taecyeon, Wooyoung, Junho and Chansung. Lead vocalist Jaebeom (a.k.a Jay Park) was ousted from the group in 2009 after an internet controversy - unfavorable comments towards Korea were found on his Myspace account which caused outrage, prompting an early termination of his contract.

2PM's concert in South Korea last year also went controversial following allegations that it contained sexually suggestive acts in violation of country's laws.

The group recently released their second studio album titled second studio album entitled "Hands Up."

Jason Mraz has announced plans for a special international tour, an extraordinary itinerary that will see the Grammy Award-winning tunesmith visiting North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia with a special one-night show in the Philippines at the historic Smart Araneta Coliseum on October 30. Adele Live in Manila 2011 rumors 'not true'

There are rumors that international singing sensation Adele is set to stage her concert in Manila on December 3, 2011.

Quoting "major concert promoters," Odyssey Live said the rumors are "not true" and "not confirmed" since Adele has no Asia tour schedule as of the moment yet.

"To quote MAJOR concert promoters we spoke with today, the rumored ADELE MANILA CONCERT on Dec 3 is NOT TRUE & NOT CONFIRMED as there is no Asia tour scheduled for Adele anytime soon," Odyssey Live wrote.

Adele (born Adele Laurie Blue Adkins) is a Grammy-winning British singer-songwriter who popularized the hit songs "Rolling in the Deep" and "Someone Like You" to name a few. She is currently in the middle of her "Adele Live" concert tour which kicked off last March 2011 and scheduled in various cities in North America and Europe in the coming months.

Sum 41 postpones Manila concert

Sum 41 is postponing for an indefinite period of time the rest of the scheduled dates on their "Screaming Bloody Murder" 2011 tour which include October 16th, their Manila concert.

In a statement, Sum 41 said lead vocalist Deryck Whibley is currently undergoing treatment for a medical condition which was not divulged. Whibley's doctor has ordered him to start a rehabilitation program and to recuperate for the rest of 2011, the band added.

"We are all devastated that our best tour yet has been interrupted." said Drummer Stevo Jocz "Our band lives to be on stage and playing in front of our fans. We never want to let anyone down but the most important thing right now is that Deryck makes a full recovery so we can continue on next year . We’re working as fast as we can to reschedule these dates," Sum 41 said.

Sum 41 was scheduled to perform in a one-night concert at the A-Venue Concert Hall on October 16, 2011.

Harold Geronimo, a lifestyle columnist of Manila Standard Today, confirmed the news moments ago via his Twitter account.

"Confirmed: Another Black Eyed Peas concert in Manila this October! It will probably be in the new SM Arena!," Geronimo tweeted Monday.

In his other tweets, Geronimo revealed that he is currently in a meeting with BEP's Noypi member Apl.de.ap who is back in the country for some charity event.

The Black Eyed Peas has been doing their fifth concert tour "The Beginning Massive Stadium Tour" the past few months which kicked off in Paris last June. Most probably the said Black Eyed Peas Manila Concert 2011 will be part of the said tour which is in support of the group's sixth album, "The Beginning."

30 Seconds to Mars Manila Concert 2011 Videos

A day after Incubus' act, another American rock band staged their one-night concert in Manila. It was 30 Second to Mars who electrified their Noypi fans at Trinoma on a rainy Friday night (July 29, 2011).

But unlike Incubus who already came here thrice, it was the first time for 30 Seconds to Mars to be in the Philippines. During a presscon before the concert, lead vocalist Jared Leto said his band has in-stored "unforgettable" performances for their fans.

"We always try offer a night that is unforgettable and a night that gives people an opportunity to leave all their trouble, stresses, and problems for a while and just to be in the moment that their life to be FREE!. I’m not happy to see people wake up in the next day and slightly embarrass about themselves, just like in a bad wedding," Leto said.

Incubus rocks Manila anew (Concert Videos, July 28, 2011)

Incubus successfully staged another jam-packed concert in Manila last night (July 28, 2011) which was held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. It was their third concert in the Philippine capital — Incubus held their first Manila concert in 2004 at the PICC open field, and then in 2008 at the Araneta Coliseum.

During the sold-out concert, the American rock band did not only perform singles from their newest album “If Not Now, When?” but they also did their popular hits which have been well loved by many Noypis such as "Wish You Were Here", Megalomaniac", and "Nice To Know You."
