Philippine Fashion Week October 2011 Schedule

The Philippine Fashion Week which will feature the Spring/Summer 2012 collections of several local and international brands will be held this month at the SMX Convention Center in SM Mall of Asia. It will run from October 24-31, 2011.

Yesterday Amsterdam got itself a new treasure, the Canal House Hotel located on the Keizersgracht. With its luxurious and trendy interior this hotel might just be the new hotspot. Rooms are surprisingly big, most with a view on the canal others on the garden. Yes, a garden. Which wasn't finished yet, but hopefully will be soon so that you could enjoy diner there (how  romantic). If you get the chance, get a drink at the Canal House - believe me it's worth it.

Living on a cloud for a few days now, Pinkpop 2011 made my weekend, even though I was only there on Saturday. A line up with Selah Sue, Lifehouse and COLDPLAY made this day one to remember, topping it of with a smashing Silent Disco party. Stef and I "headbanged aka knotted" the hell out of Pinkpop, giving it our all. The fact that I didn't see Kings of Leon live, makes me crave for more...

Yeahhh! Finally! Topshop opened its doors in The Netherlands, in the very contemporary store, SPRMRKT! We, as fashion-addicted ladies have been waiting for this moment for so long, that last night during the opening I went mad when after 1 hour they still didn't officially open. Luckily, eventually they did and I could get my claws on all items. Not knowing no item could be bought, very disappointing and embarrassing, since I was already walking around with 3 pieces in my hands... But today at 10 A.M. Topshop became part of the shopping culture of Amsterdam.

Yesterday I was present at the monthly drinks at the Ready to Fish shop. Again all the fashionable people gathered around to sip some cocktails on the sunny canals. Looking at the pictures, you can see I kinda let go of control - my holiday started so couldn't be any happier! Enjoy your weekend :)

Last night the third edition of Nevy and Friends took place. Again an evening filled with gorgeous people, good food, lots of drinks and a DJ to make us go wild. But this time they had secret performances of some very talented people. Boy, Melanie and Jermaine Fleur sang the hottest soul R&B/Party songs with such great vibe! The crowd even left there food for what it was and treated their feet to some groovy dancing. A very intimate summer party in the lovely Nevy - can't wait for the next!

This winter I gave my mom a cooking class for her birthday, with recipes of the very well-known Dutch chef Ron Blaauw. Since I believe my mom's world's best chef and I hopefully will make her dishes just as exquisite she does one day, I thought this would be a great way to have a daughter & mom moment. I have to be honest, I was quite nervous. Since I had no clue what to expect and if my skills would come alife in this very professional environment. We were teamed up with 4 other amateur chefs and every pair was responsible for a course of the menu. I am not a big fan of fish and my mom isn't a big fan of lamb, so our choice was easily made and put all our bets on the dessert. A strawberry cocktail with almond cookie and whipped cream - so as the pictures tell, the dessert was a celebration! So were all other dishes, even though not my choice of ingredients. The best part? I could see my mom enjoyed every second of it, showing off her beloved cooking skills.

Yesterday I was present at the Y community event, a place where social media identities get the opportunity to finally meet each other in person. The entire evening was build around the best theme of all times, *trumpets* .... fashion! With presentations of James Veenhoff and Peter Stigter, just to name a few - showing the vibrant aspect of social media in fashion.  I got back home with new inspirations, connections and pictures ;) Can't wait for the next!
