Oldie but goodie.

One of my favourite shots taken wayyy back in February that somehow managed to get lost in between my overkill of saved images. An ensemble consisting of vintage Moschino dress, classic cowgirl hat, Mango sunnies, vintage clutch, Gucci boots and stacked wrist candies deliberately added extra significance to this particular day of my beach side vacation in Brunei.

Sands of Time

Happy sunny winter weekend in Perth!

Being the beachoholic that I am, without hesitation lazing by the beautiful sandy seashore was the first activity of choice that came to mind as soon as I woke up to a brilliant sunny Friday morning. Spent the whole day beach hopping (from Scarborough to North to Sorrento) and cafe scouring for energy/giddiness boosting snacks in between! It was easily the most appropriate day to whip out my favourite Australian bush hat, Dangerfield studded fringe bag and a series of wrist candies and fringer frostings (Tag Heuer watch, bangles from the markets, and rings from Forever 21 and Sportsgirl) to be teamed with a red lace-trimmed tank, abstract printed skirt from Forever 21, sheer cardigan from Supré, retro style sunnies from Mango and my overused vintage boots.

Killing Time

Hanging out at Minq Bar & Lounge in Burswood while running in between a fashion event, the casino and a night of club hopping in a getup team entailing a vintage Escada blazer, Forever 21 shorts, Equip leopard printed stockings, vintage Ferragamo purse and Betts boots.

Hidden in the Dark

More outfit shots from the first of four sessions of Fashion Talks 2011.

Apparently the cold and wet aftermath due to whole day’s worth of rain wasn't enough to stop me from wearing an almost transparent spread of chiffon in the form of a nude coloured kimono blouse from Topshop, matched with my favourite faux snakeskin leggings that are just as thin, overused studded clog boots, vintage snakeskin clutch and a necklace formed by many thin strings of chains and beads -- an outfit that unexpectedly managed to receive overly generous compliments from a random English-Jamaican guy who was especially interested in my 'scaly legs'. Guess all the shivering and teeth chattering I had to go through the entire evening were somehow worth it after all?

Straight Cut

I had the pleasure of reuniting with this blazer again after not seeing it for what seemed to be lightyears and to say that I was ecstatic when I got to team it with my new vintage choker necklace and custom made leather wrist cuff would purely be an understatement. I love how intense the colour of the blazer is; the hue left me with a single non-debatable style option for my hair that day, super straight, which (to feed your curiosity) effect can be achieved with any of GHD straighteners, the masters in hair ironing.

Leopard Capital

Vintage dress. Temt hat. Betts boots. Mango sunnies. Vintage Ferragamo purse. Market cuffs.

The leopard print on this vintage dress never cease to mesmerize me. It's so vivid and compelling that every time I see it I feel like giving it a loving stroke. I wore it to the Topshop Dress Up collection launch last month under a vintage Escada blazer but keeping it simple this time by letting it hang loose as is and only adorning it with few black and gold accessories which seem to be the default favourite colour mix of late.

Heaven on Earth

After long hours of hunting (online and offline) I can conclude that the best places to look for kaftans and kimonos are in the lingerie or swimwear department or shop -- the former being where I got this satin leopard kimono cardigan from. It was truly love at first sight! Since then I've been itching to get more so to feed into my addiction with reptile prints and transparent materials I searched every nook and cranny of the world wide web for a sheer snake printed kaftan that is versatile enough. Basically one that can take me from day to night -- from covering up my bikinis after a swim at the beach to wearing it as is for a dinner date that follows right after. Now you can only imagine my glee when I found this piece of gem!

Nautical Edge

Nothing like floating through a dreamy and easy weekend in bold stripes and simple leather... sort of like an uncontrolled vessel going wherever the wind and current take her without a worry if she drifts too far away into the sea because someone will always be there to launch a lifeboat to her rescue should she seem to be in any kind of danger!

Snake Bite

It was cool and windy today so my sister and I decided to cruise around the suburbs to people-watch after we ran few important errands. Considering my day was already pretty relaxing prior to heading out, wearing an ensemble comprised of vintage Escada snakeskin printed silk shirt similar to the floral version, Jay Jays lace skirt that I've also worn here with another snakeskin printed top (what a coincidence!), Betts Chelsea studded clog boots, Mango sunglasses and market bucket bag was easily the most obvious option. Looking at these shots now makes me realize that I'm really not scared to repeat outfit pieces because I know my mood and the surrounding vibe is totally different each time, making that particular moment itself unique and memorable.

The best kind of day -- when everything dreadful on the to-do list is accomplished much ahead than anticipated and there's nothing left to attain, leaving the evening open for fun adventures like spotting a great peaceful nook in the midst of crazy busy city life and unexpectedly ending up with handfuls of freshly made to-go sushi ready to be devoured promptly upon purchase because hey, nobody said I can't eat and drive at the same time!

A quick and fuss-free getup for a busy errand-filled afternoon: running around in nude button-down shirt and army green leggings (both from Topshop), bucket bag from the flea markets, vintage inspired accessories, and gladiator sandals from City Beach (also worn here, here, and here). I was madly rushing that I headed out of the house without brushing my hair! Oh well... it's not like I typically brush my hair anyways.

Between the Lines

More complete shots of yesterday's outfit.

This skirt is actually the bottom part of a traditional Malay dress baju kurung (Malaysian readers... can you tell? *wink*). I love the abstract print so much that I started wearing the skirt outside formal events, pairing it with basic loose fitting tanks and slouchy tees to inject a more casual feel to the whole ensemble.

By the way this post can't help but remind me of another outfit I put together ages ago pairing the top of a chiffon baju kurung with shorts!

Jungle Fever

Somewhat inspired by the Free People June 2011 lookbook.

Roaring in the wilderness with an exotic white tiger printed on my long sleeved tee that is obviously long enough to be worn as a dress, completed with merely a pair of suede fringe boots -- an ensemble formula that needs no further add-ons as the simplicity cannot be more appropriate for the tropical jungle weather I'm breathing in at the moment.
