'Captain America: The First Avenger' opens in Philippine theaters this week

"Captain America: The First Avenger" has premiered in other countries last week and is set to open in theaters in the country this Wednesday.

In the US, the Marvel movie earned $4 million in midnight showings, outgrossing other 2011 original superhero movies like Thor, Green Lantern and X-Men: First Class. It then became the highest-grossing opening weekend for a superhero film in 2011 after earning an estimated $65.8 over the weekend.

The film has gained a rating of 8 in IMDB, which is high. It also has a Rotten Tomato audience rating of 86%.

With these stats, the movie sure is something to look forward to this week.
