If there is one adage that I've heard time and time again in the fashion world, it is "all in the details". Though this tip can be easily overlooked, as I mature in my style, so too does my eye for detail and choice in pieces. The beauty of fashion not only lies in theatrical imagery of haute-couture but also in a designer's ability to cut a simple silhouette and place a detail that immediately dramatizes a look. That said, while assembling an outfit, I always ask myself what element of the runway/street-style can I use as an accent? In the first look, by rolling tattered wide-legged jeans, I'm able to recreate both the "ripped" and "boyfriend jeans" trend. To compliment the faded blue pants, I pair it with a silver/gray pastel top. To balance the tattered look, I make sure the top has an equally dramatic but feminine touch, namely anything that shines and glitters. The second look, I call my second LBD or Little Brown Dress. The cut stripes on the back, demonstrate that you know how to compliment one of womens' greatest assets, while confident enough to pull of simplicity in the front.
