Ice Cream Sandwich, upcoming Android OS, leaked via eBay: report (Video)

Ice Cream Sandwich OS gets previewed.
Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest Android operating system to be used in smartphones and tablets, is yet to be launched next month but it was reportedly leaked via eBay by accident.

According to an Engadget report, a man was surprised when he discovered that the Samsung Nexus S phone he ordered on eBay did not have the familiar Android Gingerbread OS. Instead, he found out that it was the upcoming Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS that was running in his newly acquired handset.

The said person quickly recorded a video displaying what Ice Cream Sandwich's features are. He was able to create a two-minute twenty-second video which he uploaded online. From the clip, we can see that the new OS has a lot of incorporation of Gingerbread and Honeycomb. It shows the user interface as similar to the leaked screenshots that have previously surfaced online. The new features include the lock screen, a Google widget with a number of Google apps, a new camera application and the notification bar. Check out the said video below:

Engadget added that after the person uploaded the video, his handset was remotely wiped and locked.

According to recent reports, Samsung has officially announced that Ice Cream Sandwich will be launched on October 11th. Android Head of Engineering, Mike Claren had called it the company’s “most ambitious release to date.” Features of the new OS will reportedly include facial recognition and new APIs to reduce fragmentation. It is said to be a combination of Gingerbread and Honeycomb into a "cohesive whole"
